EU mission - 100 climate-neutral and smart cities

The European Commission has selected and announced 100 cities to participate in the 100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities mission by 2030 (the so-called Cities mission). In addition to the EU member states, the associated countries will also participate - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Iceland, Israel, Norway, Turkey, Great Britain. In Slovenia, three cities have been selected for participation: Kranj, Ljubljana and Velenje. The mission, based on innovation and research for clean mobility, green urban planning, energy efficiency and networking opportunities, exchange of good practices and citizen participation (novelty!), will be largely funded by Horizon Europe.
