European Natura 2000 Award
The European Natura 2000 Award is aimed at preserving biodiversity in the EU. Award for five different categories:
awarded by an expert jury composed of members of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Committee of the Regions, a non-governmental organization and a user community. In addition to the selection of finalists, the projects are also open to the public for voting (EU Citizens' Award category). The latter award does not actually represent a special category of award, but by voting it ensures direct inclusion in the final procedure.
The Natura 2000 award covers:
The Natura 2000 competition is published every two years, usually on 21 May, via the Natura 2000 website. Prior to applying, applicants are advised to thoroughly review the published conditions for successful and appropriate project application.
The public can access:
- Conservation on land,
- Marine conservation,
- Communication,
- Socio-economic benefits,
- Cross-border cooperation,

- lower financial contribution,
- trophy and certificate.
