EU treaties
The Treaties of the EU contain the basic principles of the EU, the main objectives of the EU, the rules of operation and decision-making of the EU institutions, the relations between the EU institutions, the relations between the EU and the EU Member States. EU Treaties, including amendments, supplements, annexes and protocols, are legally binding agreements, distinguishing two types of treaties:

The first exit of a Member State from the EU's political-economic alliance happened in 1985 - Greenland, and the second in 2020 - the United Kingdom (Brexit).
